Senate to begin work on Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB)

Senate President Bukola Saraki says in a few weeks, the Senate would begin work on the first set of bills meant to reform the petroleum industry.

The Senate President made this known on Monday while inaugurating 10 Standing Committees of Senate.

Dr. Saraki urged the relevant committees to pay close attention to the bills.

He said that the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) had been given priority in the legislative agenda of the Eight Senate.

Senator Saraki had told Channels Television that the PIB would be broken down into different segments and handled differently to ensure that the issues identified in the bill were addressed.
