Interim
head coach of the senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons,
Chris Danjuma has invited 35 players to begin camping for the 2016
Olympic qualifiers against Equatorial Guinea.
The players
have been told to report to the CJ Planet Hotel, Area 1, Abuja, today
ahead of the team’s departure to Port Harcourt for the first leg of the
third round of qualifiers, coming up against Equatorial Guinea on July
18, while the return leg tie holds in Bata on August 2.
Leading the pack is the reigning African and BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year, Asisat Oshoala.
Danjuma,
who replaced Edwin Okon on Monday, recalled Sweden–based defender Faith
Ikidi, goalkeepers Tochukwu Oluehi and Sandra Chiichii as well as
defender Joy Jegede, midfielders Amarachi Okoronkwo and Osarenoma
Igbinovia and Sweden-based forward Sarah Michael.
