Mats Hummels is set to remain at Borussia Dortmund next season after apparently rejecting a move to Manchester United.
Hummels
had said last month that he was keeping his options open ahead of the
summer transfer window, but the club had said they wanted to extend his
contract, which is due to expire in 2017.
It now
appears he has committed to remaining at the Westfalenstadion for next
season at least, with both kicker and Bild having been told he will
stay.
BVB sporting director Michael Zorc told kickermagazine:
"It was legitimate that Mats was thinking of his future, but I told him
we're planning with him."
Dortmund have said they are not planning a major squad overhaul this summer despite the impending exit of coach Jurgen Klopp.
