Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, has been named the national leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
Her adoption was done at the National Executive Committee meeting of the party in Abuja, Thursday night.
Bianca, Nigeria’s envoy to Spain is the widow of Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu, a former leader of the party.
The
choice of Amb. Bianca Ojukwu as APGA national leader and President
Jonathan’s endorsement were all part of seven-point communiqué issued at
the end of the party’s NEC meeting.
The party, while commending
the judgment of Abdulkadir Abdul-Kafarati of the Federal High Court in
Abuja delivered on Wednesday January 15 2015 in a suit between Chief
Maxi Okwu and others v s Chief Victor Umeh and others as inclusive and
brilliant, said it would use the judgement to recover its soul ,
re-focus and rebrand itself in the near future.
It applauded the
Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the release of 2015
electoral timetable and urged the commission to maintain the old
practice of consulting political parties before taking major decisions
on the conduct of the election.
The committee called for the
inauguration of its Board of Trustees with initial 24 members that would
be meeting in two weeks in line with the provisions of Article 10 and
11 sub(10) (3) of the party’s constitution to elect the Board’s chairman
and secretary.
