Salomon
Kalou will not be on his way to Arsenal after Lille rejected a loan bid
for the striker, according to reports in France.
The
Gunners are keen to bolster their squad before tonight’s 11pm deadline,
having missed out on several transfer targets this month.
And
it appears former Chelsea man Kalou is the latest to be eyed by Arsenal
boss Arsene Wenger, but the 28-year-old’s current club Lille are not
willing to let him go on loan, according to RMC Sport.
It is understood, however, Lille would have been willing to sell, with Kalou among the club’s top earners.
Kalou
joined the Ligue 1 side in the summer of 2012, fresh off the back of
his Champions League success with Chelsea, ending his six-year
association with the Blues.
The Ivory Coast international has
since been linked with a return to the Premier League on several
occasions, with moves to both Arsenal and West Brom mooted.
But
it seems Wenger will have to look elsewhere – and quickly – if he is to
bring a new centre-forward to the Emirates before tonight’s cut-off.
