Osun State Govt bans fireworks during Christmas and New Year celebrations

In a bid to ensure that the state remain safe and peaceful during the yuletide season and always, the Governor of Osun State, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola has directed that the use of fireworks be banned in the state.

The Governor, in a statement by the Director, Bureau of Communications and Strategy, Office of the Governor, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, stated that the state was banning the use of fireworks to stay on top of situation as it concerned security during the festive period and all times.

The statement added that the security situation in the country was enough reason for precautionary measures within the period and beyond. The statement called on people of the state to be vigilant and report any strange activities of any group or individual.
