Bayelsa Election: APC's Timipre Sylva rejects cancellation of Southern Ijaw results

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva, on Monday said that the party is rejecting the cancellation of the Southern Ijaw local government area election by the INEC.

Besides, he insisted that the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state had no right under the law to cancel an election which had been concluded, despite the security challenges that may have been associated with it.

He wondered why other places like Ekeremor, Sagbama and Nembe where widespread violence took place were not similarly cancelled.

Sylva stressed that the state REC should have been transferred and not allowed to conduct the election since he had been used to conducting elections that favours the PDP in the past.

He therefore made it clear that the APC may head for the courts to enforce the declaration of the result which he insisted clearly shows that the APC was winning.
