$2.1bn Arms Deal: Bode George denies collecting N100m from ex-NSA, Sambo Dasuki

Bode George
Chief Bode George, Former Deputy Chairman South West, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Olabode George has denied been among beneficiaries of the arm deal involving embattled former national security adviser Sambo Dasuki.

George in a statement last night signed by its close aide and chairman Lagos Collectives, Professor Tejumade Akitoye – Rhodes said Chief Bode George did not collect a farthing from Dasuki or anybody else whatsoever.

He said the PDP chieftain never set his eyes on the former NSA throughout his tenure in office talk less of collecting money from him.

“Dasuki of course is very much alive to corroborate this position .”
The statement described the report that George collected 100 Million Naira online as false.
“Sahara Reporters has now gone beyond the pale of gutter journalism in its utter malicious story linking Chief Bode George to a phantom 100 million naira allegedly collected from Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Adviser,” Akitoye – Rhodes said.
He said the libelous publication is out rightly borne upon a twisted and depraved imagination, lacking substance, stripped of any iota of truth, prompted by a primitive malignity.
“Again, in its disdain for clarity and the truth, the grubby online outfit still refers to Chief Bode George as an ex convict despite the fact the man has been completely discharged and acquitted by the highest court in our land.
“It is rather sickening and sad when any two- bit wayfarer with an access to the Internet churns out absolute falsehood and desperate invectives in the name of journalism. Beer parlor reverie and drunken anecdotal scribbles are no substitute for journalism.” Akitoye – Rhodes said.
