According to local authorities, 66 others were critically injured after the blast went off at the crowded market.
Two female teenagers are suspected to have carried out the attack just few minutes to the market’s closing hour.
The market is the largest GSM market in northern Nigeria, but it turned out to be a no go area after the suicide bombers detonated their explosives right at the middle of the market.
Eyewitnesses said the casualty figure may have been more considering the impact created by the blast,as some victims described the attack as quick and fast movement of the attackers who disguised as women on business visit.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Musa Katsina, confirmed the attack. He said investigations had started.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but it is believed to have been carried out by a terrorist group, the Boko Haram.
The group has carried out similar attacks in some northern states in the past.
On Tuesday, a bomb blast at a crowded park in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, left at least 34 persons dead while at least 80 others were injured.
