Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State and his Oyo State counterpart, Abiola Ajimobi, led citizens of their states to the final burial events for Mrs Hannah Idowu Dideolu, HID, Awolowo as the final burial rights commence.
She died on September 19, and the rights which started with lying-in-state at her Park Lane residence in Apapa, the political homes of her late husband and former premier of the defunct Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo is expected to climax with the interment scheduled for November 25 when she would have been 100 years old.
Former Governors of Lagos and Ogun States, Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Olusegun Osoba; Senator Oluremi Tinubu and other dignitaries, yesterday, visited the Lagos home of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo to pay their last respect to his late widow, H.I.D Awolowo.
Other dignitaries, who attended the lying-in-state and service of songs were Mrs. Abba Folawiyo; former Surveyor-General of Lagos State, Mr. Joseph Agbenla; leader of the Pan-Yoruba social group, Afenifere; Chief Ayo Adebanjo among others.
