Ekiti
state governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, will swear in members of the
caretaker committees in the 16 local government areas of the state on
Tuesday.
The names of those that would constitute the local
government transition committee have been compiled and announced by the
state government.
The reconstitution showed
that virtually all the members were returned, with the exception of the
former Caretaker Chairman in Oye Local Government Area, who was replaced
with Mr Oluwole Paul.
The newly-inaugurated House of Assembly
had, on Friday after its inauguration, performed its first legislative
duty by acceding to Governor Fayose's request to dissolve the council,
having spent the mandatory six months as stipulated by the constitution.
A letter dated June 5 and addressed to the Speaker, Honourable
Kola Oluwawole, asked for the Assembly's nod for the reconstitution of
the caretaker committees in accordance with the State Local Government
Transition law No 4 of 2002.
The letter was read on the floor of
the House by the Leader of Government Business, Honourable Olatunji
Akinyele and was unanimously voted for when put to vote by the speaker.
