Amnesty
International has released a damning report on the Nigerian military,
naming officers that it says should be investigated for war crimes and
crimes against humanity.
It accuses several senior
commanders of being responsible for the deaths of thousands of young men
as part of the fight against Boko Haram militants.
Amnesty
says that over the last four years, more than 7,000 young men and boys
died in military custody - in some cases, from deliberate starvation.
It says in some cases captives were deliberately starved in custody and boys as young as nine years old have been detained.
The human rights group calls on President Buhari to end the culture of impunity in the armed forces.
