Arsenal extend Tomas Rosicky contract

Arsenal have taken up the option to extend Tomas Rosicky’s contract by one year.

With Rosicky’s contract due to expire in the summer the 34-year-old had been linked with a move to the MLS or a return to former club Sparta Prague.

However, he will remain at the Emirates after the club elected to take up the option of extending his contract by another year.

Rosicky signed for Arsenal in 2006 and has made 245 appearances scoring 28 goals, although he had to wait until St Stephen’s Day to make his first Premier League start this season.

Meanwhile, manager Arsene Wenger has dismissed speculation that Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey will be on the move this summer.

Both players have been linked with summer exits but Wenger insists they will not be going anywhere.

“All our players want to stay here at Arsenal this summer. I have no concerns at all,” Wenger told reporters at his weekly press conference.
