The Baggies are yet to make a bid for the Scotland international but he is on their January wanted list.
United Academy product Fletcher, who’ll be 31 at the start of February, has had a traumatic time since 2011 when he battled the debilitating illness ulcerative colitis.
He was given an extended break in December 2011 to fight the career-threatening problem. Though he returned to United’s first team he eventually needed surgery at the beginning of 2013 to alleviate the trouble and help him lead a normal life again.
Fletcher has won five Premier League titles, an FA Cup and Champions League during his time at Old Trafford but has started just five games this season.
