Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic to join Schalke on loan

Manchester City and Schalke have agreed a deal that will see defender Matija Nastasic spent the rest of the season on loan at the Bundesliga club.

Nastastic joined City from Fiorentina in the summer of 2012, but he has struggled to break into Manuel Pellegrini’s first team and has been restricted to just one appearance this season.


He had been linked with a move to another Premier League club, but he will now join Schalke for the remainder of the season, subject to a medical.

Schalke have now agreed with Manchester City the final details of a loan for Matija Nastasic subject to a medical,” a statement on Schalke’s website said.
