Chelsea are holding talks with Italian club Fiorentina with a view to signing Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado.
The
London club are rumoured to have had an initial bid for Cuadrado of
£20.6m turned down by the Serie A outfit, but the player’s agent is set
to fly to London in an effort to broker a deal.
Cuadrado,
who impressed for Columbia at last summer’s World Cup where he tied
with Germany’s Toni Kroos for most goal assists, reportedly has a £26.8m
release clause in his contract at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
The 26-year-old has scored 21 goals in 82 appearances for Fiorentina since joining, initially on loan, from Udinese in 2012.
His
prospective arrival at Stamford Bridge casts further doubt over the
futures of Mohamed Salah and Andre Schurrle, with the club reportedly
awaiting improved bids from Roma and Wolfsburg respectively for their
services.
