Chelsea equals club record 23-game unbeaten run in all competitions

Chelsea's 3-0 victory against Tottenham on Wednesday night saw Jose Mourinho's side equal a club record 23-game unbeaten run.

The Blues have made a brilliant start to the season, winning 17 of their 23 games and drawing just six to match a record first set by Mourinho's 2007 squad.

Mourinho has led his 2014-15 team to the Premier League summit, six clears points clear of Manchester City while steering the west London club into the Champions League knockout stage without with a game to spare.

There has been talk of Chelsea even matching the Arsenal 'Invicibles' record of remaining unbeaten for 38 games, even if Mourinho has been quick to reject such claims.

Chelsea first set the record in 2007 during a successful period between January and May which saw the Blues win 18 of the 23 games before being beaten by Liverpool on penalties in the Champions League semi-final.

The 2007 squad boasted the likes of Arjen Robben, Claude Makelele and Michael Essien, who helped the club beat Arsenal in the League Cup final during the spell and set Mourinho's side on their way to an 86 game unbeaten home Premier League run between 2004 and 2008.

Mourinho's current squad have already travelled to the home of Premier League title rivals City as well as collecting a point at Old Trafford while defeating Liverpool and Arsenal along the way.
