Animashaun, a 29-year-old man, was arraigned in an Ikeja magistrates’
court in Lagos for being in possession of 589 Permanent Voter Cards
(PVCs).
Animashaun, who resides at No. 12a Itire road, Lagos, was charged with disobedience to law and a breach of public peace.

Okoi, the prosecutor, told the court that the accused committed the
offences at Itire primary school, Lagos on November 20 .
“Animashaun
was apprehended by the police within the premises of Itire Primary
School, Lagos, following a tip-off by residents in the area,” he said.
“He could not give tenable explanation as to how he came about the 589
permanent voter cards in his possession and all belong to different
individuals.”
Okoi said the offences contravened sections 22 and 166 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Animashaun however pleaded not guilty.
The
presiding magistrate, Mrs M.I. Dan-Oni, granted him bail in the sum of
N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. The case was then adjourned
until January 12 for mention.
