Manchester United close in on Di Maria

Angel Di Maria appears to be edging closer to joining Manchester United with the club said to be hopeful of agreeing a £150,000-a-week contract offer.

United have been strongly linked with a deal for Di Maria, who wants to quit Real Madrid this summer in the search of a new challenge.


And now reports in Spain suggest United are optimistic of agreeing a contract worth £150,000-a-week, with only a fee to be settled with Madrid before the exciting transfer can happen.

Di Maria, who is also believed to have offers from PSG, Monaco and two Italian teams, has always hinted that he’d be interested in a transfer to England and Louis van Gaal is a big fan of the player.

Madrid are believed to want a fee of at least £40million for the 26-year-old, who will be free to sort out his future after Sunday’s World Cup final.
