Governors
on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Thursday, shunned
the security meeting convened by President Goodluck Jonathan.
The president had summoned the security meeting in view of the recent
development with regards to security challenges facing the nation.
The terror Islamic sect Boko Haram had been laying siege on the nation,
killing, maiming, raping, as well as abducting innocent people.
Agenda of Thursday's meeting, was the reviewing of the security
situation in the country, as well as ongoing national security measures
and operations with a view to determining the best way forward.
The progressives governors that shunned the meeting were: Ibikunle
Amosun, (Ogun), Babatunde Fashola (Lagos), Raid Aregbesola (Osun),
Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa),
Rochas Okorocha (Imo), and Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Rabiu Kwakwanso
(Kano), Kashim Shettima (Borno), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto).
