Joel Campbell wants Arsenal opportunity

Joel Campbell wants the opportunity to fight for his Arsenal future and prove his worth to manager Arsene Wenger.

Campbell signed for Arsenal three years ago, but he has never played for the club having initially failed to gain a work permit. He has spent his entire Arsenal career out on loan at Lorient and Real Betis before joining Olympiakos this season.

The 21-year-old seized the opportunity to showcase his talent against Manchester United in the Champions League, scoring a superb goal as the Greek side defeated their Premier League opponents 2-0.

Having impressed for Olympiakos, Campbell is hopeful he will finally be given the chance to play for Arsenal.

“I am still hopeful of playing for Arsenal but I have not been given the chance yet, I hope to keep working at Olympiakos,” Campbell told ESPN Deportes.

“I am making sure that I take this opportunity.”
United must win by three clear goals in the return leg to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, but Campbell will be doing all he can to ensure that does not happen.
“We played every well against a very good team and we weren’t intimidated,” Campbell explained.

“There is still a very hard game at Old Trafford and we hope to advance to the next round.

“Thank God I scored a goal and celebrated it with my father, girlfriend and cousins.

“There are many things I can improve on though, I am 21 and I have to keep working.”
