Campbell signed for Arsenal three years ago, but he has never played for the club having initially failed to gain a work permit. He has spent his entire Arsenal career out on loan at Lorient and Real Betis before joining Olympiakos this season.
The 21-year-old seized the opportunity to showcase his talent against Manchester United in the Champions League, scoring a superb goal as the Greek side defeated their Premier League opponents 2-0.
Having impressed for Olympiakos, Campbell is hopeful he will finally be given the chance to play for Arsenal.
“I am still hopeful of playing for Arsenal but I have not been given the chance yet, I hope to keep working at Olympiakos,” Campbell told ESPN Deportes.United must win by three clear goals in the return leg to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, but Campbell will be doing all he can to ensure that does not happen.
“I am making sure that I take this opportunity.”
“We played every well against a very good team and we weren’t intimidated,” Campbell explained.
“There is still a very hard game at Old Trafford and we hope to advance to the next round.
“Thank God I scored a goal and celebrated it with my father, girlfriend and cousins.
“There are many things I can improve on though, I am 21 and I have to keep working.”
